Vita website goes multi-lingual in four of the top ten internet languages

To meet the growing global demand for information about products to tackle honeybee diseases, the website of Vita (Europe) Ltd is now available in four of the top ten languages used on the internet: English, Russian, Spanish, and French. A separate website in Italian is also available.

Vita’s website covers the identification of the main honeybee diseases and pests with videos and text about how to treat them and how to boost honeybee immune systems.

The accessibility of the Vita website in different languages is already proving its worth with more than 50% of users reading the information in a language other than English.

Sebastian Owen, Commercial Development Manager, explained: “With distributors in 50 countries, Vita must keep abreast of changing national regulations and ensure that customers can receive clear instructions about the advantages and correct use of products. We are therefore keen to make this information available directly to as many beekeepers as feasible in their preferred language without having to deal with the problematic if entertaining automated translations sometimes encountered on the web. We hope to add a few more languages in due course.

Owen continued: “The pattern of product sales in different countries tells a fascinating story of the how threats to honeybees have gone almost global in the past two decades and how new pests are spreading rapidly with no respect for national boundaries or even continents. We will be exploring aspects of these stories on the Vita blog (www.vita-europe.com/beehealth/blog/) in the coming months.”

The first blogpost on beekeeping in Russia is here.
