Maintaining quality in the new beekeeping regulatory landscape

Motti Yakubovich

Motti Yakubovich, the new senior regulatory affairs and quality manager at Vita Bee Health, aims to ensure the maintenance of product quality and regulatory compliance at a time of change.

One of Motti’s first tasks when he joined the company last year was to help manage the successful technical transfer of Vita’s Apiguard production facilities from Hampshire to Italy. He has also played a key role in the ongoing task of making Vita’s operations and products Brexit-compliant.

Motti explained that he is no stranger to bees and honey: “I was very pleased to be appointed by Vita and see my job as helping to maintain and improve the quality of Vita products. I have a special interest because I love honey – especially the gifts from my father-in-law who manages ten colonies in Moldovia.»

Max Watkins, CEO of Vita, said, “Motti’s experience in working for major pharmaceutical companies is proving very valuable, especially at this time of change. He has been able to alert us to the most efficient ways of moving Apiguard production facilities without any loss of quality while ensuring compliance across several regulatory regimes. Making arrangements to ensure seamless continuity in preparation for Brexit and beyond has of course been challenging in regulatory terms, but we are pleased with our preparations thus far.”

Born in Ukraine, Motti has gained valuable experience in several countries. After graduating from university in Romania, he has worked in Israel, Slovenia and most recently for several years for companies including the multi-nationals Novartis Animal Health in Slovenia and Mylan in the UK.
