Meet the team

Tara Evans GradDipVN RVN Head of Sales

I started my dream career in a mixed animal practice in Sussex in 2003. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2006 and continued to work in first opinion practice until I joined the Vita team in 2018. My passion for the care and welfare of animals continues and I couldn’t turn my back on veterinary nursing completely so continue to work regular shifts at a local first opinion practice.

Like a lot of veterinary nurses I have quite a menagerie at home, I can never resist a cute face in need. My furry family include Mila my energetic, hyper black Labrador, Jules, Berba & Mia my three now aging cats, Beryl & Derek my rescue 3-legged tortoises, numerous fish and budgies. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, travelling and exploring new places.

I grew up surrounded by animals so reading Biology at University was a natural progression. From there I joined Vita Bee Health, with responsibility for developing our honey bee health sales in Central/Eastern Europe. I’m proud to say that this is now one of our fastest-growing regions.

In 2007, seeking new adventures, my girlfriend and I moved to Hong Kong ‘for a couple of months’. Four fantastic years later, and now married and with a two-month old daughter, we returned to the UK to be closer to friends and family. Back at Vita, it became clear to me that there was a real need for a company dedicated to supporting veterinary practices by offering high a quality, research-backed, veterinary-exclusive range of products. Thus, Vita Animal Health was born in 2018 and, in the expert hands of registered vet nurse Tara Evans, has gone from strength to strength. I am particularly proud of our partnership with Vetlife, helping them to provide vital support at a time of increasing awareness of the mental health challenges within the industry.

I enjoy helping out with Vita’s honey bees at our apiary close to the office. We have a pair of rescue guinea pigs at home and – once the long-running black lab / cocker spaniel debate has been resolved – we’re excited about adding a new member to our family!
