Spot the pollen competition winner

Horse chestnut tree - Aesculus x carnea

The answer to the pollen competition is horse chestnut — as Adrian pointed out it could be either the white-flowering Aesculus hippocastanum, or the red-flowering Aesculus x carnea.I suspect the latter. Horse chestnut in southern Britain is flowering  about four weeks later than usual this year.

And the winner is … Sandra Hearn (with her response on Facebook (responses also came on this blog and on Twitter).
